"The World's a stage"
Have you ever been told that you can be anyone you want to be? That if you're shy you can act confident and thus be an outgoing person. If you're timid you can act tough and be more assertive. But in this process, is it possible to lose who you really are? Become so enwrapped in being "in character" that you become that character? That you lose yourself.
Look around you, look at your friends, at your family and the people you've never met. Are they who they really are? Is the confident, outgoing woman at work really outgoing and confident or is she simply acting? If she's acting, what about her interests and hobbies? Do they match up to her personality? Is her life an entire lie?
And what about yours? and mine. "The world's a stage" alright, but who's acting? I have no idea really why this thought came to my mind last night, i couldn't sleep and was thinking about random things and it popped out of nowhere. It creates some interesting scenario's though and to me, it makes sense. People pretend to be what they want to be and by doing that they can be who they want to be but what they want to be and who they are, are two entirely different things.
