this is gonna be like eight thousand updates in one because i have a lot to say:
it's midterm week right now which is busy and no good, but at least it's warm out, and i have spring break to look forward to. i'll be down in boca friday night and in the early part of next week will be heading to UCF, UF, et alius, so you folks in that area make sure to give me a ring and we'll hang out.
friday night i was sitting in the dining hall with a couple friends and this guy comes up and introduces himself and is like "can i sit here?" we thought at first he was running for an office or proselytizing or something, but turns out he's looking at applying to princeton as an undergrad. problem is he's 26 years old. he's a speedskater and just retired; he went to the olympics this year and in '02. (side note: he says bode miller is 'kind of a douche bag') so that's cool, he's a nice guy, and he goes with my friend jenny to see some dance show. we tell him we'll hang out with him later and take him to the street. when we get back to the room, we google search his name, and he's freaking Joey Cheek...has won some medals, including a gold, and has been all over the news for giving away all his prize money and stuff. he called me later and said he couldn't go out, but i've definitely got his phone number. pretty dang sweet.
my roommate scotty is getting a job as a manager for a student agency delivering papers, and that means he's making me his assistant manager. i'll get paid somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 grand for the year, which is pretty rad and can help cover my college debts. i still have to decide what i'm going to do for a job this summer: either work at camp or doing finance stuff in sofla. i'm split on the issue right now, and i have to decide by the 20th.
and FINALLY: i saw the entirety of the R. Kelly 'Trapped in the Closet' hiphopera the other day (that's right folks, 12 chapters). how that man can make something so entertaining out of the same one minute of music is beyond me. if this thing were tongue-in-cheek, it would be brilliant, not that it already isn't. if you don't know what i'm talking about, check this thing out. from the awful driving scenes to the midget crapping himself you will not be disappointed.
man life is moving right along. hope to see some people soon.
