Christian and I have moved into our new home. It is nice to have a place I can call home. We are just waiting for closing now and the house will be officially ours. I am really excited!!! A new project to work on, YAY! I have been reading Brisingr lately. A small rant under the cut. If you have read the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini then you will probably understand my ranting, but if not or are planning to you probably will not understand my blubbering.
Besides moving into a new house I have found out that I WILL be observing and possibly student teaching drama at Williamsport High School. This amazes me. I also might be able to get a job there once I graduate teaching theater. I am pumped!!!! (Needed a new word.) I would love to teach English, but theater is my passion. I am passionate about books and writing, but lets face it I am a strange one and not everyone shares my enthusiasm for those subjects. Theater however boosts even the lowest self-esteemed people into action. Just look I am getting all preachy and everything. (not that I have low self-esteem, quite the opposite, not Aaya Sohma for nothing ; )
I have been waiting for three years for this book. So far I enjoy it. Paolini writing style has become more mature. There is a big different between Eragon and Brisingr. The only bad thing part I can find with Brisingr is he is leaving a lot of loose ends, so thank God this is not the last book of the series. Another major problem is Eragon has become more of a side character. Paolini seems to put aside Eragon's story and pick up on the over big picture instead of just Eragon's part in it. I do not know if I like that. I like the idea and theme of how one person can make all the difference, but I believe Paolini likes Roran more than Eragon at this point, he definitely writes high praises for Roran than Eragon.
I refuse to give away anything about this book yet. I have not finished it but I am about half way through it. The beginning is action packed, but now I am in a little bit of a breather from the action which is nice. Something else which is bothering me is the idea in his books even though there is action and plenty of fighting the main characters are not hanging on the edge during their fight scenes. I know that Eragon will survive to fight Galbatorix because he is the only who can, but Roran who so far has little to do with anything is written the same way as Eragon. I believe will end up with the last dragon egg. Paolini seems to be leaning in this direction. I hope not because then it would be to predictable. I like Roran, but he should stay the warrior/leader of the towns people making him a dragon rider would make it too much change for the character. Besides Roran has a mortal life he would never recover mentally or emotionally if he became immortal.
