That I can deliver. Here it is!
My Friday night didn’t turn out so well. The plan was for five of us to go to the Pat McCurdy concert since we hadn’t seen him since New Years ’07. I had gotton word that Pat missed me, so I decided I must go. We were going to meet at my house since people were coming from Cottage Grove so it would be closer for them, plus if things got crazy there was plenty of room for people to spend the night. I was going to drive us all to and from the bar since I’d much rather save my money for something house related than spend it on booze.
So here I am, all excited, thinking oh goodie, my friends finally get to see my new place. I even tidied up as much as I could despite the massive amount of paint supplies and tools everywhere. Plus, I was all fancied up to go out! I straightened my hair for the first time in a couple weeks instead of wearing it curly and looking homeless/80’s pop star. Even the glasses were on hiatus! I was rocking the contacts that night.
A few minutes before they were supposed to arrive, I got a phone call with the following news, “Yeah…we’re just gonna take a cab instead. You can meet us there or cab with us.”
Flashback to 4th grade birthday party. Invited everybody I knew and only 3 kids came. This was just as bad. So I’m thinking Wow, there is nothing I can do to get these people over here. I drive so no one has to deal with a cab and all they have to do is drive 15 minutes to Eagan and see my house? Seems like a decent deal to me, but evidently its not. Ouch.
For whatever reason this hit me pretty hard, so I was inconsolable for like 45 minutes. So I went over to my parents house and hung out with them instead.
So I’m through. I’m not going to beg.
My Saturday and Sunday were great though, so I guess the weekend equals out, yes?
