Christmas

Just got a phone call today that my husband's grandfather passed away last night. No information yet on the cause. Today is James' (husband) birthday and we'll still be going out to eat but it's going to be rough because we are going out with his parents and I don't know how his mom is taking the news. They are already out of town making the funeral arrangements. Grandpa was his mother's dad. He was placed in a home April this year because he kept falling and not taking his meds. He fell and hit his head on the kitchen table the last time so it seemed best if he went where he could have constant attention when he needed something. He seemed to be doing well there, he was singing at the home's masses in the chapel and was well feed and taken care of. They made sure he was taking his medications and that he was comfortable. I feel as though I should be grieving more than I am but I wasn't really that close to him as I haven't known him that long. All I know of him was going over to his side of the house 20 times a day whether it was to turn on the air conditioner, clean the litter box of the cat I gave him to keep him company, or any time he pounded on the wall for various things (which could be sometimes 2 or 4 in the morning as his sense of time was lost).
