Mailed off the books I wanted to keep this week; Media Mail is the greatest thing offered by the post office 70 pounds of books for under forty dollars. looking forward to the trip across the country, the first part of the trip will be up to see my grandfather who just got out of the hospital in Los Banos then I think we will head east and cross the Sierra Nevada at lake Tahoe. Much beyond that I don't know the big question I suppose is how hot the Nevada desert is and how much time we want to spend dallying among the concrete dinosaurs and collections of old sex toys and photos of old brothels that serve as tourist attractions along the highway and freeway will dictate the speed in which we travel across to arches national park in Utah. the further past Tahoe and the dinosaurs of Nevada the less and less solid our plans become and we like them this way we have a lot of family and friends who have offered us their houses and to be honest unless we drove a serpentine path we could not manage to see them all. The only questions that remain now for us is how much do we stray from the most direct route and how much do we explore the places we find.

I am totally excited about the trip, my prospects on the east coast, and I am all about china town buses!
