Okay, so this movie looks great. I've been anticipating it ever since I saw a preview, but have also been ridiculing it for its title. I mean, come on, you've got a boxing movie, and you're gonna call it Cinderella Man?!
Why not Rapunzel Man? Or how about Sleeping Beauty Boy?
[Not macho enough for ya, Tinkerbell?]
Well, now that I've educated myself on the subject, I realize that the movie's title is not the invention of the studio, director, producers or screenwriter. Really, I had a pretty good idea that this was the case - that this was based upon a true story, but I think, perhaps, I enjoyed ridiculing the title of the movie a little too much...
Cinderella Man, if you were not aware, is the story of
James J. Braddock - whose nickname was Cinderella Man. Why was he called Cinderella Man? Come on guy/toots*, it's not that hard to figure out.
ANYWAY, who wants to go see Cinderella Man with me on Friday?
* Toots: (tutz, sort-of rhymes with books), babe, dame, broad, bird, etc.
