The Calm Before The Storm.

Jul 10, 2005 04:42

So I sit here in the dark at nearly 5 a.m. in the morning. It's been raining off and on for a little while now but nothing too serious so far. It's strikes me as rather amusing, as wonderful and powerful as we as a race have become we are still humbled by the awesome force of nature.

Look in consternation as storms tear up the sea,
raging down upon us with greatest might.
Gathering the power from above the clouds,
blackening the sun away from sight.
*repeat*

Gaze in frustration as ground becomes a void,
forcing you towards the jaws of sand.
Your power is now shaken to its foundation,
across every acre of your land.

Fall to the ground after climbing so high,
fall to your knees and yield for the sky.
As the primordial powers unveil,
from beyond time, nature prevails.
You can only stand in veneration.

Stare in astonishment as earth spits
out its core,
covering your land in a burning wave.
Run for cover if you can
and save what can be saved,
or the wave will become your grave.

Behold in amazement, inferiously you stand.
The air becomes a fire right before your eyes.
The sparkling flame of envy is setting you alight,
as mother nature cracks the sky.

The winds rush, the rain pours down like a water fall. The destructive power of this force is amazing and frightening. And yet, though it is so deadly a force, I can not help but be awed by it. It's actually rather ironic, I love to be in a storm I like the rain and the thunder and lightning. But I don't like it because at somepoint or another I end up losing power. Ah well not much to do but stand in veneration right? ^_~ Well, be safe everyone.
