So some of you have heard, and some of you have not, but yesterday was the scariest day of my life.
About noon-ish, while at work, I started having sever chest pains. I tried to work them out, rubbing, drinking some water and such to no avail. I then decided I would try to eat something and see if that helped. I didn't even get that far. The pain got so bad, I decided I needed to go home. I went to ask my manger if I could go home, and I assume I looked much worse then a felt, so she offered to take me to the hospital, and since I was still feeling immense pain, I accepted. On the way there, I got very short of breath. I could inhale fully, but i felt as if I was unable to retain any oxygen from the breath. I thought I was going to die. Full on paranoia of death. I began crying because I was horridly worried that I would never see Daina or Jason again.
I just kept thinking of Daina and Jason and how much I love them for what seemed like the longest car ride ever. After checking in at the emergency room, I had my blood pressure taken (extraordinarily high) and and EKG run. At this point, the pain became milder and I started to feel really dumb for making a scene. So then I got to sit in the waiting room while I awaited getting taken into the actual emergency room. At this point the pain intensified again, and I felt less like I was wasting people's time. So I finally get taken into the emergency room and given a bed to lay on and a god awful gown to where. God I hate those things. So a bit more waiting, and I get 4 units of blood drawn. A bit more waiting and I get taken for chest x-rays. A bit more waiting (and falling asleep. See last entry) and My boss comes back from the bathroom. I now remember that I had been talking to Daina on AIM and to her just vanished. So she steps outside to call Daina to let her know what's up. Daina rushed (as much as you can rush on an hour long drive) to the hospital, and we waited some more. Debbie (my boss) left, and Daina and sat and talked for while. At 4:30 (Mind you, I checked in at 12:30) I finally get seen by the doctor. He talks to me for a few minutes, checks some stuff, and tells me I prolly had a massive case of acid reflux. I feel like the biggest tool bag in the world. Almost 5 hours waiting, freaking everyone out, and me thinking I was going to die, all to find out I had super indigestion. So I got released in about ten minutes, and head back to work to collect my things and head home. All in all I feel like I made a big scene for nothing, but those 5 hours of waiting were horrible.
So now you know the tale of my second trip to the emergency room. W00t!!! Consider yourself among the lucky.
