don't get too excited

last weekend I had to give myself a mental break for a day or so due to a bout of intensive writing. So in keeping with my current focus of embarassing fangirling I present Herge's Tintin, Snowy and...a sinister badly-drawn shadow with a badly-drawn gun. You can tell he's the bad guy because he has a gun and appears to be bald. And of course ( Read more... )

Hooray for Tintin! One crit, though - the inked outline is nice, but the single inked vine kinda sticks out.

What book combo did you get? And I've got to warn you: the downside with those 3-in-1 editions is that the pages are smaller and everything's compacted, so the art suffers a bit. At least, the ones I've seen were like that. D:

hehehe actually it's not ink, just a big ol' black pencil :P yeah I see what you mean. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with that background so it was like ugh awwwkward. I think you're right tho. I'll probably go back and fix it. The picture's a bit too small for my tastes.

Everything's tiny? Hm. Maybe I'd be better off getting the singles then. I got The Black Island (scotland and kilts squeek!), King Ottakar's Scepter and the Broken Ear. I saw a reprint copy of Tintin in the land of the Soviets which I am really wanting to get as well. There seems to be woefully small amounts of single copies available in hardcover on BN tho :( granted there are some 1970's editions heh in paperback.

It's exciting when you're first discovering a new series. I haven't been this excited since I started getting into the Terry Pratchett books <-------- geek

(and by the way ZOMG most of the Tintin fan art thumbnails on DeviantArt is ohgollysomekindascary @_@)

That's an interesting mix - the first two are fairly early ones, the last is later. Land of the Soviets? Interesting - that's one that I didn't think was available in the US.
Go to Amazon.com. I'm sure you'll find loads more there.

I dare not to look for Tintin fanart or anything like that. It's too near and dear to me to risk such trauma.

Yeah and Tintin in the Congo is available as well. Apparently with a foreward explaining things as it seems to be the most controversial of the books.

There were a few...a veeeery few pictures that were decent and respectful that I liked. Other than that...yes. Traumatic X( even in thumbnails
