No innocence is killing your innocence
I wondered for a long time whether I should write this entry in French or in English.
In the end, I chose English because I wanna share this with everyone in the world XD
As you may know, I went to Cannes to see Epik High few days ago.
First, I arrived in Paris on Saturday 23th and spent the evening with some friends and one of them had seen Tablo and Mithra in Charles de Gaulle airport earlier that day, I was sick "jealous" cuz they had talked with them, got some autographs...
My train for Cannes was on Sunday at 10PM something, newscasterbambi, cheshire_noneko and I managed to stay together.
One hour of train later, we were told the train had an engine problem... not very cool at all cuz we had to go back to Paris.
So we waited for another hour and were back to the starting point waiting for some guys to repair some part of the train...
Then, someone announced us we had to change trains so we rushed to take our seats again.
We barely managed to sleep, well, I didn't sleep at all.
When we arrived at Cannes, it was raining (why was it fucking raining in the south of France!?) and we were exhausted.
Since we had to wait for naesa_chan13 and for the opening of the tourist center, we went to the first coffee shop we saw.
Once we found our friend, we took some maps, bought bus tickets, walked for a long time to find a bus stop and took the keys of the appartment we booked on internet.
Since it was really cheap, we were a bit scared and thought it'd be shaky... but not at all!!!
We could see the sea from the balcony and it was really clean.
A bit later, we met kaelhya (who was the friend of a friend...), she was really really nice and had baked some brownie for us ♥
Then, we had to buy some food, we played games, we went out... we didn't have time to get bored.
The day after, kaelhya had to go, so we had lunch and sent her at the station.
Just after that, it was something like 6PM, we went to the Martinez (a luxury hotel) and saw some early fans who were already waiting for the groups.
We had fun altogether but at some point, Nature called me and I needed to pee, so I entered the hotel.
If one day you're looking for some place to pee, just go to the Martinez, everybody can go inside without any problem
And you may encounter some weird painter talking to you in the bathroom XD
We waited for quite a long time outside so everyone decided to stay in the hall of the hotel.
Everyone except us because newscasterbambi saw some Korean people smoking outside near another entrance of the hotel.
We went there and... that was THEM... I mean, all the Map the Soul crew was there.
We gave a little something to Tablo who read our messages and who came to talk a bit with us.
One of the 1st thing he asked was who was the person who became fan because of "Fan", it was me and he asked me why.
When my explanation was over, he told MYK "we should write another song like that" XD
Tablo also told us that they kinda regret making the "Wannabe" and "High Technology" music videos as they are.
I told him that was funny, so it was pretty cool and different from the others.
His answer was "well, but I think that's all it is... funny".
My interpretation of that sentence is that people only saw the comic side of the MV and didn't really pay attention to the lyrics and messages in these songs.
Well, to err is human but I think they shouldn't have regret cuz they were nice videos still.
Damn, the guy has some charisma despite his size and he definitely looks better in real life, so is Mithra.
Tablo was nice enough to make a picture with us and sign our CDs and it was so funny when he called Mithra to do the same.
"Mithra... MITHRA!!! SIGN, SIGN!"
Mithra totally looked like a cute bear, he was drinking beer when Tablo called him so when he stopped he had a mustache-beer XD
MYK was also there, I was so effin happy cuz my 2nd Epik High fav song is Maze and MYK participated to the writing of this one.
When I told Tablo that, he answered "Well, he did a good job on that one" and then turned towards MYK saying "you did a good job".
That was hella funny, and it was great to see them getting along so well.
I think this is gonna be the 1st time saying this but... THANK YOU CIGARETTE!!!
After that, we went in the hotel to wait with the others, we took our tickets and queued to enter the concert room.
We meet very nice people while waiting, it's great cuz we could have fun.
I also met jenni06 who contacted me via LJ in another entry, it's always great to meet people who share the same interests than yours ^^
We were at the beginning so we managed to get nice places, it's cool since I'm really little, I could see very well.
f(x) were the first and dance and sing, I didn't know the group, I only had heard their names before and that was all.
The girls were unexpectedly "choupinettes", meaning cute and nice, so I cheered them.
Luna has da voice powa, damn, her solo was just great, I totally vibrated with her.
And then... big moment... Epik High live!
Since Tukutz is gone to the army, DJ Friz of Planet Shiver took his place.
I can't describe that moment, that was just magic, I forgot everything and sang along with them.
They did an intro, Flow, Fan, Map the Soul, Excuses, The Future, Top Gun, Fly and an encore... High Technology.

"Fan" is definitely my fav song of them so I was jumping all around, totally hyper.
"Excuses" was written by both Tablo and MYK, it's an awesome song too.
And when they sang "The Future", wow... blew my mind!
MYK has da flow, man! This guy has my total respect for what he did on the scene.
(And for keeping his coat, scarf and cap though it was damn hot!)
The guys threw some water on us during the showcase and at the end, Tablo was really smiling.
It was a sincere and happy smile, I could see he was relieved that the audience was supporting them cuz I think they were a bit nervous before the show, well that's normal, they had never toured in Europe after all.
At the end of the concerts, there was some free beverages, greaaaaaaaaat.
And we had a little present, a Pucca-shaped 4Go USB key, this is effin cute!
It took me a very long time to go down on Earth again, I couldn't stop remembering the concert and all.
At last, we had our CDs signed, we had a picture, but the most important thing is that I could have a real conversation about music with Tablo and MYK and that's not something everyone can boast about I think.
Oh, before I forget, Tablo told me they're gonna release a new album in March but it won't be sold on mapthesoul.com this time.
He also told me that Map the Soul and their ex label are merging but everyone knows that now ^^
And random fact: one of Tablo's Epik High fav album is Remapping the Human Soul (well, my fav one ^^)
