I just want to stress this. Had it been ANYONE ELSE, just anyone, say, even Kakashi or Sakura, Sasuke wouldn't bother. He really is NOT the kind of person, especially not now, to waste time and actually PAUSE to listen. If he is really a lost case, if he really is 100% out of reach, he WOULDN'T listen to anyone, period.
But he was listening to Naruto, damnit, isn't that AMAZING?
Maybe without even realizing it, sub-consciously he wants to have another choice, another option besides Madara's way? I don't know about you guys, but this time around Naruto certainly had a way better "conversation" with Sasuke than ever. He couldn't get to Sasuke during that particular fight at the VotE, and not during their first reunion. He obviously won't win Sasuke over just yet, but yanno, with someone as prissy as Sasuke, you really need to go slow and have lots of determination. I mean, everyone else has literally already given up on him, even Karin, Sakura, Kakashi. It really is only Naruto now. And it will take time, you know, for Sasuke to realize this cause he's amazingly dense and thick-headed he's emotionally unstable.
Idk. Maybe the only way is for Naruto to kick some asses FOR him, or er, save his stupid life again, and then almost losing Naruto. Maybe that would feel like another "I lost Itachi" kind of thing lmao.
Ah and another point to add. This is exactly why none of the girls will ever get Sasuke. Not Karin, not Sakura. They never believed in him to begin with. If they did, it's all short-lived. THIS is why the bonds Naruto and Sasuke share are the strongest. Naruto understands him. He accepts him. He's loyalty is so strong, not even Sasuke can do anything about it. And Sasuke, whether he likes it or not, will be pulled in by his own bond with Naruto.
I am not quite disappointed there wasn't any fight in this chapter, cause it's okay, there's so much more to come. Man, Naruto is so attractive. He really is! He's so much more matured. He didn't jump into conclusions and act rashly anymore (okay, maybe he still does sometimes, but he's bloody Naruto, so it's okay HAHA), not even when Sasuke went all bonkers on him and everyone else. I mean, did you read the way he talked to Sasuke, with his wistful looks and his absolutely NO-REGRET smiles (just LOOK up there! AHHH <3), it's so heartwarming! I know that sounds absolutely corny and sappy but seriously. I love character development!
Oh and I cannot resist. I have to point this out. Page 5 is hilarious. I like how Naruto STILL managed to rile him up without trying until now. Come on, Sasuke wouldn't say/bark "What?!" and sound all childish if it was anyone else calling him. I mean, agitated much? That was so un-Sasuke-like. What happened to so called all mighty Uchiha-aloofness? \o/

p.s. What do you guys think of the whole white/plain background? When did they have the conversation actually? Because in the last page they still had their Chidori and Rasengan on. Were they conversing in a mind-scape like the whole Kyuubi/mind thing or just to make us focus on their conversation? Sasuke didn't even have his Sharingan on. ._.
But yay.
