So in UNtypical Andy Alvarez fashion I followed the herd and riffed Mick and Lisa's Nameless list. I found reading these surprisingly fun. Hopefully you will too. ENJOY!
1. The oldest friend I still communicate with consistently. It's funny how you and me became friends sitting in class getting our rap on. That was the base of our friendship, and then I graduated and I didn't see you for a little over a year, then we started hanging out and became closest of friends, I think it's our ambitions, only you rivaled me amongst my friends in terms of thinking big. You were also the first friend I had who wasn't afraid to go head first into things, I always appreciated that. Even though life or more specificallyadulthood has parted our directions I still consider you one of my closest friends.
2. We used to be close, then we drifted apart. Dating friends will do that, I always appreciated our little talks, but as things in life has gotten complicated, so did having those conversations. We both also got busy with life that unfortunately we can't keep up like we used to. Hopefully that will change.
3. Jesus Christ you can annoy the shit out of me, but at the same time you have NEVER let me down. For that the trade off is fair, I do appreciate you, you're loyal, trust worthy, and always trying to have a good time. I can't ask for any more from a friend.
4. You can't believe how much I idolize you. Or respect what you've accomplished, I consider myself strong willed and of high integrity. I look at you, and realize how much room for improvement I have to go. Even though sometimes we can give you a hard time about things, I wish nothing but the greatest for you. There's a few people in the world I think can make you a better person just by being around them. You are one of them. You're one of my best friends and I love you bro.
5. Where are you? I miss my friend.
6. You're the straight guy in our band of juveniles; for that I thank you. I know sometimes life can get you down. Don't let it. You're a good guy, don't change who you are. You'll get everything you deserve if you stick to what makes you, you. If you ever need anything, I hope you know you can get ahold of me. I'm sure I can help you more than you think.
7. You've accomplished everything you sought out to do. Congratulations, you're my vote for overachiever of a life time. Seriously, I'm proud of you and I love you. I know obstacles have came between us the past couple of years, but I think it makes us stronger. In fact I look at other relationships like ours, and I still don't think their relationship is as strong as ours and we've been through some drama. I think there will be no more of that, it's good to be on the same side again. You are a good ally to have, and the reason I never had the need for female friends.
8. It's weird, you and me don't have much in common, but we always seem drawn to hang out with each other. I think we have one common philosophy in life that we don't share with many others. That is a certain abandon to do whatever makes us happy. You've never let me down, and like wise I owe you the same. I appreciate you being my friend and it's good to have a guy on my side.
9. You're alcoholism puts me to shame. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. You're my homie, I feel like if we lived in the same neck of the woods, and travelled in more familiar circles. We'd be even tighter friends, you're someone I wish I could hang out with you more, but unfortunatley time and life doesn't permit, but we should try and hang out more often.
10. I always enjoy hanging out with you, no one entertains me in conversation as much as you. I've watched you grow up from a innocent teenager to a man, I think if anyone has grown by leaps and bounds since I met them, It'd be you. I'm glad things are getting better for you personally, although hanging out with you the past couple of months have been better than they were months previous. I'm looking forward in the years to come to see what it has in store for all of us. You're my brother dude, and I love you. Not in that gay/bi way you may be thinking too
11. Someone who has my love for comics, films, and writing as well, it's cool to have a homie to spitball ideas with. When I went to the Con last year, it was for the event itself. Making a handful of friends was just a fortunate plus, and I'm glad to consider you a friend of mine.
12. Yin to my Yang, chocolate to my peanut butter, Murtaugh to my Riggs, Power Man to my Iron Fist. Can any two people be anymore different and be such close friends. Where would I be right now without you? I can't even imagine. You've actually affected my life that much, and you don't even know it. Hell, I even didn't notice it until I thought about that idea. I actually consider losing the relationship that I had to become friends with you a better trade. You've kept me from jumping off the hinge more than you actually think. I trust you more than most, and know that you'll never steer me wrong.
13. Acknowledgement, I need to acknowledge your feelings and respect your space. Doesn't change how I feel, but please know that i'm always here for you if you need me.
14. I find you enjoying to talk too and to be around during these dark times. I know you have more depth, you are actually the closest thing to a true female friend I know. I never had a conversation with you that I didn't enjoy.
15. I just met you, I do enjoy talking to you, but I don't really care for some of the company you keep around. So it keeps me from wanting to be around. I do find you interesting and enjoy when we do have real conversations.
16. I always enjoying kicking it with you, it's kind of weird how we became friends. How did it really start? Myspace? Talking about Sin City and Chuck Palahniuk novels? I don't really recall, but once we became friends things just seem so natural.
17. What do I say to you when I see you? I don't hate you, but I feel no need to mend anything with you. I know I didn't make the situation any better, and in fact, I was out of line; but you hurt me, then you hurt me even worse, then you mended everything made me think things were better than I could of ever imagine and then hurt me worse than you did the second time! You really pissed me off and hopefully I inconvenienced you in some small way you did me.
18. We really steered off course didn't we? From close friends to co-workers, to enemies that retaliate against each other, to what? Friends again? acquaintances? Enough times passed, no damage was done, I've let it go. We'll never know who was telling the truth, or who was talking shit. All I know is others are less forgiving and if you really want to fix things you need to make the first step. As scary as that may sound sometimes it takes a man to admit a mistake. They have a true genuine reason to be mad at you and you have to acknowledge that.
19. You were my closest friend for awhile then you went M.I.A. then you started changing who you are for a woman, a woman! Are you insane! I understand and even agree that it's good to change for a woman, especially if it's for the best... But it wasn't, and that made me lose a lot of respect for you, but you seem to be learning, and that's great to hear. We need to get our shit together so we can start hanging out again. I missing hanging out like we used to.
20. My first best friend, we don't hang out anymore, life sent us down different paths, but you're still one of my closest confidants, I can trust you with anything, and not many people I currently know, know you. I consider you my wild card. If you ever need any help let me know I got your back homie.
