Playing / Finished:
Darksiders: Combat is pretty crap but everything else is a lot better than expected. It throws me off that the main character is way smaller than his surroundings despite being ridiculously bulky.
Vanquish: Finished this up a few weeks ago and I really liked it. I can totally see other companies stealing a lot of concepts from this game and applying it to their own game, just like they did with Resident Evil 4. Mikami is pretty much god, heh. This is going alongside titles such as Bayonetta, Red Dead and Saints Row as games I most likely will not sell because I like them too much. The zero gravity stage near the end of the game was siiiiick, by the way. It's such a shame that Capcom lost all this talent. Can you imagine how much both Bayonetta and Vanquish would've sold if they were under the Capcom brand? They probably would've gotten the sales they rightly deserve.
Alpha Protocol: A wise man once told me that if you want to become a good game designer, you have to finish your games, including the terrible ones. Sadly, I don't know if I have the will to finish this title. It's alright, and the dialogue is actually very well-written, but the game is just so god damn boring at the early going. Hopefully it picks up...
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: 170 hours and counting! That's spread over 2 months. I'm basically at the end game now but there is one more monster that I have yet to face (Alatreon) and then I will have faced every monster in the game. The end game for me is going to be solo'ing Amatsu Magatsuchi but I don't know if that's going to happen any time soon. I'm going to have to get a lot more time with him to figure out his patterns.
Looking forward to:
- Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -- Hoping that people enjoy the work I did with the voices and win quotes!
- Catherine -- The demo was waaaaay too good. I knew I was going to buy it on the first day but playing the demo cemented that decision.
- Dissidia 0012 -- I want to try this out since I didn't really play the first Dissidia. When I saw match videos of people playing I was inspired by it and really hope that some day I can make a fighting game in the same vein as Dissidia, so I might as well try it out to see what they did right and wrong.
- Last Story -- I really need this but I need to finish Alpha Protocol and Darksiders first before starting yet another 30+ hour title.
