Well, I've finally done it. I thought I could sell my soul to an evil force bent on world domination. Honestly I thought I could do it. But alas it seems I do not have what it takes. At the risk of sounding like someone we both know, it appears as though your boss' intent to be an asshole was stronger than your intent to build a career there. Stronger intent wins out every time, and there is no force of nature as shit-bringing as an asshole!
While getting fired does suck very large Easter eggs, it is not the End of Days, nor is Best Buy the top of the food chain. There may still be opportunities in another store in the chain, and there are undoubtedly oodles of opportunities in similar work if you still want it. You now have a track record of THREE YEARS at one place! OMIGOD. That's so valuable, for it tells your next employer that you did not wash out right away, and if you lasted three years before getting fired, HR professionals can figure out it probably was a personal or personality issue, not your work. You are bright, resourceful, very personable, and deliciously cute, ergo ... employable!
