Reading for the Week. 1/11/04 - 1/17/04
I used to do a reading every week years ago when I was on the Shamanism list. I really liked doing it. I don't know if the readings helped people, or they were accurate but it sure was fun to do them. So without further delay, I'm going to do my best to resurrect them. I hope you all enjoy.
I used to use I-ching to do the reading. I think I will continue in that tradition.
This weeks reading I came up with hexagram 14, moving into hex 30.

Interpretation:
Hexagram 14 is second to last in the series of hexagrams which deal with warning and caution before a huge battle. I-ching remember is a story about one kings journey of life, death, sovereignty, etc. The character in titled abundance and is represented by Fire above Heaven. A great hex all the way around. The ultimate destructive power of fire is mediated through the benevolence of heaven. It refers to abundance, and great optimism. I would say this week, for most people should reflect a move to greater power and security. I know many have had a difficult year, and perhaps a difficult start. This week should be a great chance to change that for the better. I would recommend meditating on the meaning of power in your life, and focus your intent on utilizing that power for "good".
Our moving line, one which is pure either yin or yang is translated as "The prisoners are bound together and frightened. This means Good fortune." Basically, plan well and all with be good.
The developing hex in this reading was #30 which is titled Illumination or Synergy. The kanji for the character refers, to a bird rising from the ashes of and evil footprint. :)
Overall, I see this week as a pivotal week for us all. We will see a great shift in the tides. There is tremendous potential for positive growth and a chance to rise above our previous "Evil" influences and stigmas. As with all opportunities for growth, there is always the chance to deny the truth and resist moving forward. It is possible to turn away from the light and remain in darkness so remain vigilant and assist those seeking along the path.
