One of my friends and old college room mates is getting married this weekend.
Beyond the shock that he actually found someone that actually wants to marry him,
and have his children.......
He has asked Cece to make his grooms cake.
Thanks Richard!!! (not)
It is very sweet of him to think of her,
and they adore each other.
He came over at least three times a week to hang out with us when she was a baby.
My nosy neighbor
(yes, I managed to have one then too)
thought we were getting it on.
And she would always try to mention to Jason that he was ALWAYS at our house during the day.
Whenever I look for a house,
one of my priorities is to make sure a nosy bitch with no life lives next door.
So far, I've been very successful:)

Anyway, back to the cake.
Which let's be honest, is a TON of work for me
during an already busy weekend.
We are booked solid from Friday afternoon, until Sunday morning.
I'm thinking about ordering a double layer sheet cake covered in white icing from the bakery,
and just letting Cece adorn it with M&M's and Hershey Kisses.
I figured she could make that cute and colorful,
and it wouldn't take up too much time.
WELL........leave it to Jake to burst my bubble,
something I think he has reached his quota on already this week.
He says that my plan is cheating.
He thinks she (which would really be me) should bake a cake from scratch.
I've never baked a cake from scratch,
but I do know that baking takes a good bit of practice and skill.
I just want it to be good and nice.
It is their wedding,
and I know Jenn has worked hard to make every detail perfect.

Anyone got any cute EASY ideas.
I'm sticking to my guns about not baking the cake myself.
I'm ordering it on the way home from picking Cece up from school.
Cece is pretty creative,
and I know she can pull it off.
I just need it to be manageable in a time crunch.
Any suggestions???????

richard, cece
