PBS Auction

So about a month ago my friend Mark, while en route to the gym, gave me a business card and said, "Here, read this."

So I started reading it to myself and I wondered, "Why does he wants me to read his optometrist's business card???"

"Nonono," he corrected me, "aloud."
I crooked an eyebrow at him and read it like it was a commercial.
"You have a decent reading voice," he replied.
I was a bit confused, to be honest. I personally hate my voice. It's high-pitched, nasally, somewhat lispy. So how that means "great reading voice" is beyond me but :: shrug ::

Mark continued. "How would you like to be a reader for the auction?" Mark works for the local PBS affiliate and every year they have an auction that takes up a HUGE chunk of his time.

The auction is tomorrow, and I haven't heard from him about what, exactly, it is I'm doing. All I know is: he needs me Friday and Saturday and I'm doing SOMETHING related to the auction. Am I still reading? Answering phones? Breaking shit and screaming "opa"? I have no idea. I'd love to know since, you know, it's TOMORROW FREAKIN' NIGHT and all.

(And hey, if I DO end up on TV, it'll be a hell of an improvement than the last time I was on TV, where I was a ten year old who walked into a door and fell on his ass!)

peoria, wtvp.
