Snow way in hell!!

So Peoria got hit with at least fifteen inches, and the city came to a complete standstill. While it wasn't the end of the world that some claimed, I was amazed by the amount of denial many people were in on the impact of getting slammed with so much snow in such a short period of time. My work, for example, was very hesitant to let anyone go and then expected us to be in at nine the next morning.

Just so we can paint a complete picture, the entire Peoria bus system was shut down. One of the major highways in Peoria, I-74, was shut down from Bloomington to Galesburg. Banks, restaurants, and almost everyone else had closed. So how, pray tell, does a small publication firm expect to stay open through this? God only knows, but the closing of the office wasn't official until the second in command of the office himself couldn't get to the office. Certain places stayed open -- gas stations for example -- but that was because those running them were told to stay close as they could NOT close.

Mika doesn't seemed phased at all, despite the fact that she's as tall as the snow outside, so she's been hopping through it like a gazelle. :: laugh :: I'm amazed what energy she displays getting through all of the mounds of snow outside!
