The Second Hand Unwinds

I have an alarm clock at home that was one of the first to automatically set for daylight savings. This was awesome but the feature has become quite useless lately, because the clock was hardwired to adjust time on a specific date, which is different now than when the clock was manufactured.

So Carl wakes me up and says, "Honey? Was there a time change this week?"
I mutter incoherently for a second. "Wh -- why are you even asking me?"
"Because every appliance we have says it's seven o'clock."

I bolt up out of bed since I had to catch a bus -30 minutes prior. Carl agreed to bring me to work so I wasn't TOO terribly late, and it took me the longest time to realize, that the clock had "fallen back" an hour because it was PROGRAMMED to do so. So now I get to reset the damned thing TWICE -- once now to make it the correct time, and next week to adjust for the actual daylight savings.
