Inspired by
gryphons_hole, I present to you something akin to his Sunday Style (though obviously not as good...!). Like I said yesterday, Carl presented me with a beautiful overcoat, so why not pair it with the clothes I already have and put on a little show?
The full outfit: a wool formal tailcoat done in a Victorian style, complete with vigilante pants featuring outside suspender buttons and a boot-cut bottom.
Underneath: a Wahmaker Twin City vest and a matching period white bib button-up shirt.
(Oh, and a Shiba. But that's not part of the outfit.)
A closeup of the coat, the vest, and the silk-puff tie.
Other accessories include (from left to right) metal sleeve garters, braces (as in suspsenders, not the mouth kind), and a pocket watch (prrr, pocket watches).
Since this isn't the SCA, I can BE period inaccurate. Until I find a shoe that looks like it belongs in the period of time I'm aiming for (and fits AND is something I can afford), I see nothing wrong with going a bit "steampunk" here and using my harness boots. Prrrrrrr, harnes boots. Yes, more prrr than the watches. ^_-
Thank you so much Carl. Can you tell? I love, love, LOVE this coat. Now to find a function to which I can wear it!!!
And yes, this is as nekkid as I get on LJ.
