From Bad To Worse
BAD: Getting stranded at a bus station for nearly two hours thanks to a myriad of events, just to buy a bus pass. I'm happy that there's at least some form of transit in Peoria, but seriously, if they want people to ride CityLink, they're going at it wrong. So while I waited for a way to get home, I realized that I'd forgotten my phone, being the swift individual that I am. So, I couldn't call Carl (who was home sick) to tell him what happened, and the pay phone refused to accept change.
... TO WORSE. ... and when I get home and check my phone messages, four were from Carl, who sounded hideously weak. "Roger? I need you here." "Where are you? I think ... I think that I might need to go to the ER." Anyone who knows Carl, knows he NEVER goes to the doctor short of amputation, and even then it's questionable, so he'd been trying to get a hold of me while I was stranded to help him, and I feel horrible. Fortunately his fever has gone down but he's still pretty ill, and if this keeps up his ass IS going to the ER.
