Oy, or: _Doomsday_
So tonight nytemarewulf and I went to go see Doomsday, a movie that, yes, I'd never heard of that had just come out ...
So, yeah -- this movie wasn't good. At all. The big problem is, that the whole movie doesn't make a whole lot of sense. There's KIND of a plot here, but most of the elements -- even AFTER you remove the nitpicking -- just don't make any sense. It was as though the writers were out drinking one night and one said, "... I bet you can't write an apacolyptic storyline that at the same time uses the Robin Hood sets we have on loan from the 'beeb!" "I bet I can!!!"
The dialogue is terrible -- oh the things that poor Bob Hoskins has to say, and it's a rampant problem throughout the movie. There's gore and ass and tits and more gore, and the longest fucking cannibalism scene I've ever witnessed on film. Oh, and let's not overlook the "Lifestyles like BDSM are evil so let's make 'em pay" spiel.
The basic premise had potential, but it very quickly fell on its ass like a hung over figure skater. All in all, SO not worth what I payed to get in, but this film wasn't my idea, so ... :: laugh ::

... oh, and an LJ strike? Yeah, I knew that. The lack of posts was TOTALLY because of that, and NOT because I've had nothing post-worthy* in the last few days. No sirree!
* Some would argue that what I post NOW isn't post-worthy either, but I digress! :: laugh ::
