The aadroma province was quite surprised by its first place win, which included five vrāuzī vēger (twelve points) from the other provinces. The Blithwulf province also surprised many with its second place win -- while it only got one vrāuzī vēger, it got plenty of vrāu vēger (ten points) and is currently the highest-placed Japanese song in the contest's history. This contest was amazing in that it featured, for the first time, two songs in Japanese, two in Swedish, one in Catalan, and one in Hungarian (all debut languages). More interestingly, while there were plenty of English songs in the winter edition that placed in the top ranks, this time 8th place is the highest any English song placed (newcomer province bobaloo and "Only If We're Dancing"), proving that language isn't necessarily an advantageous point.

Province spokesmen this year spread around the globe -- as the map above shows, spokesmen ranged all across the United States (the Midwest and both coasts), the UK, Switzerland, Chile, and Israel, and while this wasn't as farspread as the source of the songs in the contest, it's still amazing to see this contest take part over four continents.

Participants in the contest include (from left) Najoua Belyzel ("Gabriel", aadroma province, 1st place), Roger Pontare ("Silverland", arktos62 province, 6th place), Shiri Maimon ("Lean sheLo Telxi", tzachi province, 7th place), and Fredo Viola ("Robinson Crusoe", muckefuck province, 12th place).

Below is the table for the complete set of votes for the contest; we were missing the dmlaenker province's votes, leading to one of the International votes once again acting as a stand-in. "-" indicates, of course, that the province casting votes is the same as the one receiving, which is impossible in this contest.

By all means, comment on the results or anything else here. I hope to see many returning provinces in the 2007 Winter Edition of the Ursavision Song Contest! For a refresher on the participating songs, check here at this link.
