Today I did not just my own workout, but one with my daughter as well. I hope to get my wife back into something starting tomorrow. (Or maybe that will wait until our return from ‘Nebraska’.) She’s still losing weight, but slo-o-ow-ly now, and the turmoil of the last few weeks has made it difficult for her to resume a strategy that will allow her to advance briskly rather than gradually.

I’m still awaiting word on the UAT position, but I’m not especially surprised that there’s been nothing yet; I already knew that the weekly staff at my Reserve unit - the full-time employees, all of whom are also Reservists themselves - would be away during the days before this weekend’s drill, which I made up in advance because I knew I’d be out of state (for, I thought, my daughter’s wedding, now just a sort-of vacation). All the same, I plan to check on some things tomorrow, see if there’s anything I should be doing to follow up on my prospects.

Just today, one of Susan’s cats has decided that sharpening her claws on the seat of my Bowflex is a great idea! My daughter and I have chased the thing off three times already, but I’m not optimistic about stopping a cat from doing something it likes. And Susan wonders why I don’t love her animals the way she does.

Tomorrow is Susan’s last day before the week she’s taking off for our out-of-state trip.

And so we proceed.
