You Can't Keep A Good Man Down

So I was just checking my email and I have alerts set up for specific topics. Because one of the topics I have an alert for is The Evil Within, I see that Shinji Mikami has set up yet another independent game studio called Kamuy!

*Gasp!*

And Side Note: Isn't this like the third possibly fourth independent game studio he's founded?

I think he was one of the founders of PlatinumGames (the people behind Bayonetta). I'm not 100% certain he was one of the founders of PlatinumGames but I know he directed the game Vanquished. Then there was Tango Gameworks, who were the people that brought us The Evil Within. I knew he had left there like a year ago or so. I thought it was because he wanted to retire. I thought I read that somewhere, but I could be mistaken.

I kinda want to include Clover Studios (the people who gave us God Hand) in this list too, but Clover Studios were under Capcom's umbrella (yes, pun intended), so I'm reluctant to include that in this list but still though, that's a lot of independent game studios.

So with Shinji having started yet another video game company, I wonder if he'll be directing anything? Oooh and I wonder if Hideki Kamiya will join Kamuy, because on Twitter his bio says "Unemployed Hideki Kamiya", see:

I wonder if the boys will do something together again. I'm confident if they did the game would slap and slap hard!

But getting back to Kamuy Studios, it looks like their first game is going to be Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered?!

Oh man, Shadows of the Damned was a really weird game. It reminded me of a twisted version of God Hand. I wonder if Suda 51 is going to work on that too?

*Snicker*...

Garcia Fucking Hotspur.

That was the literal name of the main character in Shadows of the Damned. And I had forgotten until just looking it up just now, but Garcia's gun was named Johnson! And that whole ass trailer going "increase your Johnson!" That was because Johnson would get bigger at some points in the game. Oh my God... Woooooo... This game man, well okay.

But, I love you Shinji and you know whatever you do, you'll always have my love and support. I'm hoping Kamuy Studios will make great games for a long time. I also look forward to seeing what new and exciting games blossom from this new venture.

what?!, shinji mikami stuff, why was i not informed?!, games and games and games and games
