It's Officially Loafing Day

The last three days have been a train wreck. We did get Raven-Pepper from Dulles Airport and that was a mess. Her flight was delayed twice, and she ended up two hours later than we had anticipated, but it was fine because we got down there late because traffic was terrible.

Side Note- While we were waiting for Raven-Pepper, there was a hearse in front of the cargo pickup building. Apparently a man had died in Nigeria and the funeral home was waiting for the body to be released. By the time Jose finished the paperwork in the main terminal, and we had gone back to that pickup office, the hearse was gone.

I can't lie, I really wanted to see how the body arrived and no not meaning I wanted to see the decedent, no. I wanted to see if the decedent was in a casket or if it was in a different... Thing??? I don't know what that "different thing" would be, but I'm pretty certain even if the decedent was in a casket, the airline most likely covered the casket with something so people don't know they're on a plane with a deceased person. Nothing spoils a vacation quicker than facing one's own mortality before take-off.

I also kinda wanted to see what paperwork the hearse driver was going to need to fill out. I mean picking up Raven-Pepper was a hot mess, I can't imagine the paperwork involved with transporting a deceased person! Plus you are having to do that while grieving. I mean, I know the hearse driver isn't grieving, but that guy's family and friends are; I can't imagine having the mental wherewithal to fly a body literally across the world while in mourning. And you have pay for and prepare for a funeral too! Damn, that's a lot... That is a lot...

Anyway, my husband and I got into a little argument because he just had to stop by the house to take a door measurement, something that could have waited for another time. I mean seriously, we're not even moving into that house until some time in February. But really, he just wanted to nose around and see what it looked like. Yeah it's looking good, but seriously, that shit could have waited.

Because everything was delayed and my husband is still very acclimated to German time, he needed an hour and a half nap on the way back to King of Prussia. We didn't get back until after 2 AM Friday.

Yesterday was also hectic. Yet again, my husband had to do a meaningless errands, which we were a half hour late for. I had to go to urgent care, because I'm having these weird sharp pains when I breathe. This started Monday and hasn't gotten better. Well, it has and it hasn't. I feel the best I've felt today, but I'm still having the pain, it's just a more manageable pain than it has been all week. Oh and urgent care couldn't do anything for me and recommended I go to the ER, but I didn't want to do that. I had a bunch of stuff I needed to do, so I did that instead.

Another thing was, I had to collect Jose's Christmas presents from my parents house and get the last of the groceries from Sprawl Mart. That wasn't too bad, but Thursday and yesterday it poured rain, then the temperature dropped crazy hard. It went from about 50° degrees (10 Celsius for my metric friends) to 7° degrees (-13 Celsius) when we took the pups out last night. So needless to say, we needed to get that done before outside turned into an open air ice skating rink. That mission was accomplished.

So since the last three days have been an unmitigated disaster, today I've got some important work to do in and around the bed. I am going to loaf and loaf hard! Well, not completely. I still have to wash my hair and wrap presents, but that as much as I'm willing to deal with today.

are you f-ing serious?!, really?!, come on now?!
