That Is A Definite Choice...

Yeah so the fuckery that is Texas... I just saw this little nugget of you can't possibly be that fucking stupid can you?

Since this is once again public I'll tldr what the image says, "we want a referendum on seceding from the US."

But why tho? Do you honestly think that's going to go well for you? I know the argument is well our economy is strong enough to take care of ourselves and we don't need the federal government make us pay to be a part of their tyrannical nonsense.

Yeah ok... So you may have it in terms of economy now, but how are you planning on keeping that economy sustainable in the long term? What industries do you have to bring business into the country of Texas? What happens if the corporations that are currently in Texas decide they don't want the hassle of doing business with a new country who is trying to figure itself out and they pull out if the country of Texas, leaving thousands of people without employment? What do you do then? Who would be your trading partners and how do you plan on ramping up your fledgling economy? What do you have for export? And what would your currency be? Because if you dip, you won't have the American dollar to backup your bullshit and that lofty economy would quickly evaporate.

Then there's other things like who is defending the country of Texas? Oh I'm sure they would say, we'll defend ourselves, we don't need the "woke" US Military.

I'm sure you could defend yourselves against small bands of people, but let's say China decides that they want to commandeer the country of Texas, because strategically it would put them in a better position to infiltrate the rest of the US. China's army is twice the size of the US army right now and if I had to guess, a hell of a lot more disciplined then some dudes with guns. Grant it, it's a shit load of guns but still. The country of Texas would be done in a matter of... I was going to say weeks, but I'll be generous and say months, but really, it would fall in weeks.

Also along these lines, what kind of surveillance program would the country of Texas have? Do you have money to put up spy satellites? What does counterintelligence look like for you without the help of the US government?

Then there's energy. And I know the argument there is, "we have our own grids and lots of energy companies". Yeah but that hasn't exactly worked out great for y'all in recent years, has it. I.e. the grid failures last winter and wasn't there something that happened this summer too? Plus you're in that hurricane and tornado blast zone as well! Like, dude, y'all are one major climate disaster away from total annihilation; without the help of the FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and the National Guard, how do you expect to rescue survivors, retrieve, care for and deal with the remains of the deceased, and get the money and other resources to rebuild critical infrastructure, or support hospitals and first responders? These are things the country of Texas would be responsible for providing for their citizens.

Yeah I could go on and on like this but you get the point. Texas needs to stop acting like the spoiled teenager who wants to runaway from home, only to discover they aren't resourceful or even clever enough to make it in the world on their own. Yeah Texas, I know it's fun to flirt with the idea of being your own tyrannical country with its own awful draconian rules. I get that it's fun to force women into motherhood and subjugate your non-Christian, non-white, non-cis gender, non-hertero normative population but it's not a good idea and definitely not a good look. So please do this instead!

hiefer/ bitch please!, reddit adventures, are you f-ing serious?!, really?!, come on now?!, get wit me
