Ugh, so dissapointed.
I downloaded Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G-sharp minor Op. 32, No. 12 (the one I'm playing now), with THE Van Cliburn (as in the famous Van Cliburn piano competition) playing it. I HATE THIS INTERPRETATION!! Ugh it sucks! It's not as wimsicle and flowing as it should be. It's choppy and some of the left hand notes stick out way too much.
I do like his control of the right hand accompaniment though, that's to be noted and applauded. And the relationship between a couple phrases is interesting that I hadn't realized before. The end is too abrupt.
But ugh, I cant believe I wasted $0.99 off of iTunes for this. BLAH!!
I did, however, download Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau with Jörg Demus (piano) singing Die Winterreise. Only $12 from iTunes which is half price than if I were to buy each of the 24 tracks individually, which would cost me $23.99.
