I'm over my twilight layout but am too lazy to change it :) Besides I figure I should wait for the movie to come out then I can switch it to something different

I only read the Twilight books a couple of months ago because I had to for work. I didn't mind them at the time but now I'm over it. I don't think the writing is particularly good and they could all have been shorter but I can see the appeal for a teenage audience. In the grand scheme of things they are pretty harmless and I think a lot of teenagers like the mix of danger while the lead male character is still kind of safe (relatively speaking). Basically they all just need to grow up a bit more and then they will be more interested in 'real' vampires like Eric!

I much prefer the Charlaine Harris series too, also because Sookie is my age and the stories and vampires are so much more interesting! I can relate to not looking back fondly on your teen years. I'm glad mine are well and truly over :)

As for if you decide to see the movie or not, I would wait a bit so you don't have to sit in a cinema full of screaming tweens. I would prefer to wait but I promised to take my younger sister as soon as it comes out. If you want to read twilight, i think I have the pdf somewhere, let me know if you want it.

It is often better to watch a movie rather than read the book first. 90%+ of the time the movies never live up to the book so this way you don't get disapointed and you still get to enjoy the book even afterwards... Twilight is a nice enough read but it's no literary masterpiece! I personally think they cast the movie well. Kristen whatever her name is that plays Bella seems to fit the role, I thought they were going to pick some bimbo starlet so it was good to see she had been picked.
