We've seen
Mamma Mia! today. The music is really great (go ABBA!) even though the majority of the cast obviously can't sing...
However, I find the movie itself... really disappointing. The acting IMHO is really poor - Meryl Streep is such a great actress but she didn't manage to pull this one... Her portrayal of Donna is so unconvincing... The

I kinda like that everything about it is not perfect and I'd like to think it's supposed to be that way. It just looks like all the cast are having so much fun and watching the movie makes me so happy. I can even stand the bad singing (though I think Amanda/Sophie and Dominic/Sky are actually pretty good). But then I'm also Swedish and if you're Swedish loving anything ABBA is like part of your genes or something. ;)

I won't be going to see it again in a cinema, maybe I'll give it a second chance when the DVD is out.
Right now I am getting used to the OTS though - it's on for the 3rd time in a row, LOL ;)

It's funny because when I watched Sense and Sensibility I really liked Dominic Cooper. I know you're not supposed to because he plays Willoughby and all and he even looked almost evil but I still liked him and felt kinda sorry for him in the end. I didn't really like Brandon though. But then I read the book and I absolutley hated Willoughby and loved Brandon so much! I have no idea why I wouldn't feel that way during the series - everyone I know hates him in it, not just because he's Willoughby but because they think he's wrong for the part.

As for Brandon - there's only one for me - Alan Rickman! Have you seen the older version of S&S? The Ang Lee one, from 1995? It's great!

I've seen both versions of S&S and I really like them both! If I had to pick one it would probably be the series though, because I felt the cast was a better age and it some parts of the book that I really liked but wasn't in the movie. But then the series has more time to include all those things so maybe comparing isn't fair.

I am glad I don't have to choose one though...
