i saved a cat today!

derek and i were leaving the ashby bart station when this little hairless cat with a lampshade collar almost got hit by a car! i ran out and shouted "no!" and kept it from going into the street. it had gnarly stitches on its side and was meowing a lot, and i checked for tags but couldn't see any. so we kind of herded it toward derek's house to keep it in the residential neighborhood and off the busy streets, and i called the animal shelter. they basically told me they were closed and there was no one i could call. so we hesitatingly leave it near a house, and go a block further to derek's house. he said we should jump on craigslist, and i said he should post something about the kitty, and he said we should just check! sure enough, when i searched the word "hairless" the post comes up with photos and everything. so we called the lady and she drove down right away, and offered us a reward, but we said "no, thank you." yay, we're superheros! the poor, hairless, ugly, cat that had recently had major surgery found his home!







i thought it was a chihuahua at first, from behind!
