ACLU attempts to curb free speech of ACLU directors. Beyond the obvious irony, it kind of highlights something I've thought for a long time. This is the difference between conservatives and liberals. Respecting other people's rights and freedoms and values is really inefficient. The left is this patchwork of groups that feel passionate about a couple few issues but may actually vehemently oppose other issues that are also considered "left." Conservatives don't have this problem so much: they have a unity of purpose and little tolerance for anyone who is not whole-heartedly committed to their entire agenda. So the left is busy bickering among themselves and looking for "another Clinton" while the right is running the country into the ground.
It really does make sense for a donation-based organization to ask its board members not to make negative comments to the press about the organization.
Uh, even if it presents a ROFL-worthy irony.
