I have internet access on my computer! I should be commenting more. Though not as much as before till my job stuff settles.
I wrote a Stefan+Klaus drabble that will hopefully turn into a long thing exploring him and his relationships with the other characters (ESP BONNIE, I MISSED THEM INTERACTING LIKE IN SEASON ONE. REMEMBER THE DINNER ELENA HAD WITH BONNIE AND STEFAN AND HOW ALL THREE OF THEM WERE SO CUTE?!?). Here is the bit. Contains spoilers for the season two finale and non graphic violence.
Ten days after he left Mystic Falls, Elena sends him her hundredth text. He's kept them all in a folder labeled New Folder (1) and absurdly thinks the first thing he'd do if he got away from Klaus is thank Bonnie for helping him pick a phone with a lot of memory. With a lot of battery life. After all, he left his charger at home.
Please just tell me if you're okay.
Klaus is out and Stefan hasn't bothered to clean the blood from under his nails. He swallows and his index finger twitches when he replies with two characters, No.
Stefan presses the phone against his chest and counts out eighty seconds before his phone beeps, signaling a reply. She can type fast, he knows, so her message must be long.
He doesn't get to read it because Klaus is standing in front of him, Stefan's phone in his hand. Stefan keeps his eyes on his phone as Klaus crushes it and drops it onto the ground.
Klaus walks over to where Stefan is sitting on the motel room. Two days ago, Klaus would have - had - made Stefan walk over to him.
"Which fingers did you use to text her?"
Stefan meets his eyes and holds up his index finger and thumb on each hand.
"Break all four of them," Klaus tells him and turns around. He's going to pour himself a drink, Stefan suspects. "Move the bones so they won't heal properly."
Starting with his left pinkie finger, Stefan breaks each one of his fingers one by one and carefully shifts the bones so they'll heal awkwardly. He doesn't tear eyes away from the back of Klaus' head.
