Meanwhile, Damon was, to put it plainly, terrorizing her all season. Elena would be pissed off and then time would pass and Damon would pester her enough to forgive him. Or she's be so caught in pain and new reveals and guilt and self-hatred that she wouldn't have time respond to Damon threatening to break her arm.
RIGHT RIGHT. I feel like either me or Julie Plek read this season really wrong, IDEK anymore. At least in S1, we saw them having fun and stuff together. When there was that fake Damon/Katherine!Elena kiss at the end of Founder's Day, I really believed it. I saw them grow closer during Stefan's bloodlust arc and while I was disappointed with Elena'd decision-making in the moment, it didn't seem wildly out of character to me.
The insta!forgiveness in As I Lay Dying? LOL WHAT. All the abuse/terror that Damon has put Elena through this last season is gross and fills me with so much DNW and if Stefan going evil is only going to be used to push them forward then.... I DUNNO, MAN, I GUESS I WILL ALWAYS HAVE EPISODE 2x20.
The thing is, evil!Stefan could be the most amazing storyline too especially if STEFAN gets to be the focus of it. But ugh, I just have so many suspicions/worries/apprehensions.
Also I want my otp back and being cute again. :| :|
I haven't read her interviews. The quotes I've read from her make me not want to. LOOK TVD YOU GET POINTS FOR ACTUALLY WRITING ABOUT WOMEN WHILE SPN JUST FRIDGES THEM. BUT THE WRITERS GIVE ME THOUGHTFUL RESPONSES TO THEM, SORT OF. JUST. STOP. LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE WORSE THAN SPN.
I actually sort of could see Damon/Elena, much as I couldn't truly buy it with what he did to Caroline. And I couldn't quite erase him kidnapping her and refusing to take her back home when she wanted to. But just compared to this season so much better. And I did love the Damon's confession scene. It felt like an actual redemption development.
TEN MINUTES LATER OR WHATEVER HE KILLED JEREMY TO PUNISH HER AND DNW.
I am most happy with Stefan playing nursemaid and making cookies for my girls, but I wouldn't say no to being willing fucked over by Klaus because he wants to save his big brother. I just... don't want it to be used to push Damon/Elena, because, once again, lazy and cheap writing. If we must have Damon/Elena, it should be because Elena chooses him not because she's messed up about Stefan being a ripper.
THOUGH YOU KNOW I'D APPLAUD THE SHOW IF THEY MADE STEFAN/ELENA/DAMON CANON BECAUSE YEAH CANON OT3S. THEN I'D BE PISSED ABOUT DAMON/ELENA SOME MORE UNLESS THEY HIRE ME TO FIX IT.
