Lately I've been pondering exactly why I like the characters I like.
So I searched back into my childhood and pondered my favorite character. Like many children in the twentieth century, I was profoundly influenced by Disney. My favorite movie was The Little Mermaid, because I liked to swim and wished I could be a mermaid.
However my favorite character was
So. His evil uncle kills his beloved father and convinces Simba that he was responsible for the death. Then he paws at his dad telling him to please wake up. And when his father doesn't move, he spends all night sleeping in the arms of his dead father.
I feel this explains a lot.
