Why am I watching the Doma arc when I spend the entire time yelling YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG at the screen?

A plus: I'd totally forgotten Kaiba's reaction when YnY lost that duel to Raphael (indecently one of the few characters I hate ever). It was totally lulzy.

Man, this is weird. Raphael was one of the few DOMA characters that I could stand. Amelda was meh to me, and Valon could go die in a fire.

But yes, Yami and Mai's OOC both wreck whatever value the arc might have had.

What gets me is that... it wouldn't have been too hard to play with YnY's darkness. You'd have to think a bit - he's no longer deranged and crazy and willing to kill as easily, but it's wouldn't be hard to use his characterization to make him go to places he didn't want to go.

Raphael's thing was that got to the Pharaoh without enough credit as a character for me to buy it.

As for Mai, I'd forgotten most of it. Not going to rewatch it cos I hate her second dub voice actress.

I'll admit, I only like Raphael because of Guardian Eatos. That thing was like a second mother to him.

No Voice Actress, good or bad, could redeem how horribly OOC Mai was in DOMA. Damn it, if Jounouchi isn't going to suffer post traumatic trauma from being BURNED ALIVE BY RA, then Mai isn't going to fall to pieces over some bugs or sand or whatever.

I need to do a picspam of this episode. Where Yuugi leaves because he can tell how bad the filler arc is going to be and YnY cries because he has to face it alone. No Yuugi to take over to help share the burden.

That is going to be the joke in the abridged series, I just know it. Yuugi and Yami get into an argument about screentime, and Yuugi decides he doesn't need to put up with it all so he quits. And Yami cries out that he didn't really mean what he said...

What I look forward to? When he gets to the Noa Arc and he has to have Gozaburo declare his 4Kids dub goal. Here's how I'd do it.

SETO: Well, aren't you going to reveal what your plan is?
GOZABURO: No, it's too stupid.
YAMI: Oh come on, don't be such a baby, we've dealt with a lot of stupid plot holes before how bad could this one be?
GOZABURO: All right, don't say I didn't warn you.
*Gozaburo then provides the 4Kids version of his plan*
YAMI, SETO, AND JUST ABOUT EVERYONE EVER:...
GOZABURO: There, you see?
SETO: That was so stupid, I can feel myself forgetting Calculus just thinking about it!

I think that will be the explanation used. It makes as much sense as anything else about that ridiculous arc!

As hard as I crush on Noa, YEAAAH that sub-plot could had been handled a LOT better.

And by a lot I mean, like... A LOT

Not having it awkwardly thrown in the middle of another arc would had made an awesome start! In my humble fangirl opinion.
