So here we were, working for Wolfram and Hart. Wolfram and Hart who had gone out of their way to get Angel on their side. It looks like they succeeded, odd as it may sound. And all of us went along. I can't help but wonder what the hell we're thinking joining this law firm. To say that I'm confused is putting it mildly. Everyone seems to be

"Harmony! Christ!" Quickly grabbing her mug, I put it somewhere safe on the desk, and put the papers on an even saver spot. And she natters on and on and on. I swear that girl should come with a stop button. Someone should remind me why I didn't stake her when I had the chance a few years back.
"What time did you want to meet up, Mister Knox?" I glanced at him and then looked at the papers Harmony had thrust into my hands. Raising an eyebrow, I give her a blank look. Angel would explode if he had her as a personal assistant. Heh. But at least he'd know what to expect. He really does hate the unexpected. And of all the evil roaming around here? Harmony is probably somewhere on the bottom. maybe even literally too.
"If you keep shaking them like that, they will," I remark dryly. "Harmony, these are the football scores from 1986." Giving her the papers back, I frown at them for a moment. Why would anyone want the football scores of 1986? I don't think I really want to know. "Where are your real papers?" That girl has no brain, I can't believe she actually has a diploma. Let alone skills. "What class? Advanced bosom?" Shaking my head at the memory, I sigh. I really miss the old days.
"Does three this afternoon suit you mister Knox?" Getting out my electronic agenda, and how incredibly nice of the firm to give us all one, I get out the little pen and start to boot it up. Suspiciously I glance around the so called typing pool. Some demons, some human looking creatures. Obviously a vampire or two. No one we can actually trust. Of course. Bloody typical.

And I'm more tolerant than most of the people in charge.
I smiled at Wyndham-Pryce, "Three sounds just fine. Is there any place in particular you'd like to meet up?" One of the first rules of being an underling- always make them think they're in charge.
There were plenty of things I could do in the lab. Fred always needed an extra hand, and there were all my little side-projects. I wouldn't have any problem filling the time.

"If you keep shaking them like that, they will...Harmony, these are the football scores from 1986. Where are your real papers?"
A smirk crossed my lips. How would he know how I'm shaking them unless he's looking at them huh? Ohhh little ol English man's not so stuffy after all. He used to be more uptight then that Giles guy that was always in the library when I was in school. Hmmm, I wonder if they're both like each other or something. Eah; who knows.
"Hey!" I snatched the papers from him. "These so aren't the scores from 1986." I looked at them and the numbers scribbled on the back, that was Suzy from accounting's phone number. I flipped them over and grinned, shoving them back in his face and paying no attention what so ever to the nerd in the lab coat. "See, told you, those are my papers."
I looked back and forth between these two, Wesley as usual was unaware of any and everything. Sheesh, and they say I'm oblivious. Now this lab nerd, he had a look in his eye that I've seen a few times here, but only by vampires. Bloodlust hungry. Hmmm I'd have to keep an eye on this one, I have to protect the boss man and stuff.
Squee! I couldn't wait to work for Angel and the gang. Hmmm, I wonder where Cordy is...

Ah, Harmony. Now there's another...thing...someone, I've no idea what to do about. I mean, what are the odds of running into her of all vampires here? Slim to none. I wasn't kidding when I told her I thought she'd be dust by now. She has possibly one braincell and frankly I'm amazed she survived this long.
Pinching the bridge of my nose, I glanced at the papers she pushed back in my hand. "Harmony, you should know better then to write on such important papers. Really girl have some sense." Oh my lord, what am I saying? Harmony and sense in the same sentence? This firm is already affecting me. Sighing, I shake my head and turn to look at the papers.
"Well...you can type," I said hesitantly, because quiet obviously that was the only thing on here that had a good grade. Which, considering her nails, is quite astonishing. "And I suppose you know how to handle the phone." If she's anything like Cordelia I guess she would. "And...you're...social." Might scare all the clients away. "Alright," folding my arms over my chest, I glance up from the papers and give her a hard look.
"Convince me. Why should I hire you to be Angel's personal assistant." Other then that it would drive him absolutely nuts. And because it's easier to keep an eye on evil you know rather then wait to have it sneak up on you.

"Well duh, of course I can type silly. I am a secretary and ummm stuff." I flashed him a hundred watt smile - thanks to Cordy lessons - and looked at him, hoping he was going to say yes.
Ohhhh glares. He's ummm kinda.... Tilting my head like one of those cute lap dogs - bet I'm cuter - I look at him. He'd be cute and stuff if he like ummm I don't know smiled more and stuff. He's acting like Angel and being all hard in the forehead.
Convince him... uhhhh. Think Harm. "Because I already know about his ummm condition and stuff and well I'd be good and oohh! We keep the same hours and I don't mind working nights..." I rambled on, looking up at him enthusiastically.

Well, I suppose she does. She's talking, reading, and writing. One does need a brain for that, or so I'm told.
"Harmony," I sigh, leaning back against the desk. "*Everyone* here knows about his 'condition'" what kind of word is that to use anyway? Condition, he's not ill. "Why do you think we've the special glass? Not for the odd vampire that works here." I tap on said glass, giving her a raised eyebrow. "And Angel usually works during the day, since those will be normal office hours."
That wasn't very convincing. She's going to have to do better then that. At least she's enthusiastically enough, which will drive Angel batty as well. The more I think about it the more I think she might just be the right choice. She'll keep him on her toes, if he doesn't dust her after the first day that is. "You'll have to come up with something else, Miss Kendall. And if your sentences include the word 'stuff' again, we're going to have a problem." It was hard to keep my face neutral, because to be quite honest? She was amusing me.

"Something better?" I huffed and looked down at my feet. Ohhh these sandals really do look pretty, make my feet look pretty. Wait, focus. Harmony, focus. How the hell are you gonna convince him? You've tried everything short of sexual favors.
He doesen't seem the type.
Fine, time to be straight and stuff.
"I don't know. I don't know what you wanna hear or whatever, all I know is that I'm trying to do the good thing, I'm trying to be a good per- vampire and st- what not but it's hard you know, I don't have a soul like Angel does and I'm not human like you any more. It's harder being me in the end of the day." I shrugged and looked at him. "Guess I thought being near the goodies would I don't know, maybe make me one...Or at least kind of like one."

"Did this military that was roaming around Sunnydale get ahold of you?" I asked suspiciously. What? They did it to Spike. And from the stories I've heard there, he was helping out these so called Scoobies long before he got the soul. Then again, Spike has a brain. Which is a lot more then I can say about Miss Kendall here.
But she's trying so hard. Alright, I'm in a good mood for some reason.
"Just answer me these questions, Harmony alright?" I tilted my head and caught her eyes. "I need someone who can file with a *normal* alphabetized system, who can answer the phone's *politely* and not ramble on with girlfriends," I added quickly. "I need someone who can type out all kinds of reports, letters and so on when it's needed, I need someone who can manage the agenda," of a someone who hates agenda's, "bring him coffee, set appointment, cancel appointments, sometimes make travel arrangements, protect the boss from unwanted clients, remind him of important things, and a whole lot more."
Now, the question is, can she do all that? And still find time to paint her nails.

Questions? Geeze, nobody said they'd be like questions and stuff. Ok, I can handle this. I'd take like deep breaths and stuff but well I don't need 'em.
"Yeah, I can do that stuff, anything you want." I stood up a bit straighter. "I mean I've never done this stuff before to be honest but I learn quick and I'm willing to give it my all Boss." I bit my bottom lip and looked at him. "Please, Wesley. Give me a chance." Hey, that's all I really want. Evil or not I still need money to buy my Channel and all that.

I raised my eyebrow at the 'stuff' remarks again. That was something she was going to have to learn. I...pardon, *We* can't have someone answering the phone and have her referring to things as 'stuff'. That just will not do. We've a reputation to re-build here. Right, and hiring a vampire without a soul will do exactly that.
But, we know her. We know what she's capable off. Or rather what she's not capable off. As far as backstabbing goes? She's not really a big threat. I think I should worry more about Angel staking her. But, it's worth a shot. If only to see the look on his face.
"Alright," I nod, pushing myself away from the desk. Glancing at my watch, I see that I've just enough time for lunch and then meet this Knox fellow. "Report at my office at eight o'clock sharp. That's in the morning, eight o'clock. My secretary Jennifer will explain your job to you and where you'll find everything."
Tilting my head, I give her an expectant look. "Don't mess this up, Harmony. You know what Angel can be like, so do your very best." And try not to get staked. By Angel, that is. Maybe I should try to be there when Angel meets his secretary. Pure to make sure she doesn't turn to dust on her first day of course.
