As a history-based community, we're obviously focusing on fandoms that occurred in the past. How FAR in the past is up for debate, but something that takes place in, say, the 1980s is probably not going to fly. And... Um well, so basically it's super Archeology focused, also especially in the first movie - they go exploring and digging and accidentally resurrect the Egyptian high priest Imhotep in Mummy shape while looking for (and finding) Ancient artefacts... In the second movie they dig him up on purpose and it's a lot about reincarnation etc., but all the Egyptian people and Mummies were actually real people - you can Google them, they might have changed their backstories and some things, but the most important ones totally existed, in case that makes any difference xD. The third movie is a bit more... IDK honestly I totally blocked out that even existed because UGH THEY RECAST EVIE (BUT INCLUDED MICHELLE YEOH SO I'M IN A DILEMMA XD I ADORE MICHELLE YEOH SO MUCH) but it's something about the Terracotta Army? So... DID THAT MAKE SENSE? YAY NAY? XD
EDIT: So of course I ramble before I think xD. What I was trying to say is that I thiiiiiiink pretty much 100% (or 95%) of that magic involved there is actually more mythology than magic? I'm honestly not familiar enough with Egyptian history to prove that what I'm saying is completely right, but the whole magic part always felt way more like "mythology come/proven to be true" than OMG SORCERY to me there. xD
