ehm... I don't think so. I mean those creepy zombie thingies do look reeeally terrible, they are big meanies and they are totally stupid but isn't it said that within stupidity lies real happiness? I mean they don't have any brain left, do they? So they don't know how horribel they or how bad they act with biting and killing others. They just do what they do and are with it, they don't know any better because they don't think - well can't think.
In short: No, being a zombie is not suffering, I think it's reaching the highest level of happiness a human can reach *g*
