Hi there!

First of all, I want to apologize. The other mods and I were not entirely clear on how you were going to run the Avatar Secrets and were under the assumption that the secrets were going to be posted in another community and just linked to the main community to alert people about them, not that they were going to be posted in the main community itself. That was our fault for misunderstanding and I apologize sincerely for that.

That said, the fact is that some of the secrets would never be acceptable in the community if they were posted as comments or individual posts in avatar_fans and they are no more acceptable as secrets...not because of the subject matter, but the attacking and bullying tone used in the majority of them. However, since you've obviously put a lot of work into setting this up and it's not your fault that we misunderstood, we would just like to ask that you move the project to it's own community. We'd be happy to affiliate with it and you are free to post links to the submissions posts and secret posts until it gets off the ground. It's just that avatar_fans is supposed to be a place where it's safe to express opinions without being attacked, even if there are disagreements, and we think the tone of the secrets themselves are definitely edging into attack territory. So...sorry about the misunderstanding on our part, and we'd appreciate it if you took things to a separate community.

I'm really sorry. I didn't even think about it becoming such a negative thing. The reason I meant to do it in Avatar_fans was because secret communities for fandoms themselves usually die out.

I guess this was a learning experience. ;) I didn't plan to do another one, but if it happens I'll be sure to post it in a separate community/journal.

I'm not sure if you're saying its fine to leave the post I already made and just not do anymore in the future or do you want me to move it?

Not a problem. It was just mutual confusion on all sides, I think, and it's not like you did anything wrong, after all! ^_^.

Probably the best approach would be to delete the initial post and move it to another place and relink it...normally I'd say leave it and just disable comments but there have been a FLOOD of complaints from members since I initially got in touch with you, from all sides of fandom so moving it is probably the best option. I won't touch it till I hear back from you, so no worries about getting back to me quickly or anything; where you move it to or if you decide to just delete it entirely is totally up to you. And please let me know if anyone gives you a hard time about the secrets posted...a few of the complaints I've gotten have been directed against you in particular and all of the mods are trying to make it clear to people that it's not YOUR opinions, it's several people's, but just in case, let us know if you hear anything. You were just trying to do something fun for the community and any accusations or attacks against you are unacceptable and if they come up, we'll get it taken care of.

Wow, really, people need to chill! I didn't expect this to be such a big deal. I'm one of those easy-going all-tolerant people, ya know? (Doesn't happen often on the Interwebz, I know.)

I guess I'll just delete it. I won't bother moving it. I think it just needs to die. ;D

Heh, believe me, I know. I'm one myself...I think that's why they added me to the mod team, I'm pretty good at commenting without making a big deal out of stuff. I can understand where some of the complaints were coming from, though, so...thanks so much for being understanding with this. I still feel bad about having to get in touch with you at all because you were just trying to do something fun for everyone, so I appreciate you being understanding about this.
