Vexen [2/4] tehseto May 26 2009, 04:15:53 UTC
Personality: Being a Nobody, Vexen doesn't exactly have a personality to speak of. However, he still manages to show some bits of personality picked up from his past life. Most of these traits aren't really positive.

The first thing one would notice about Vexen is his overbearing pride. He thinks lowly of practically everyone that he meets, including his fellow members of the Organization. That said, he hates it when members under his rank try to order him around or say something that isn't to his liking, so he'll pull rank in any situation possible. He takes rank literally, although rank has little meaning in the Organization.

Although he has this superiority complex, he has shown signs of fear, especially when his life is in jeopardy. Due to his paranoia about being in dangerous situations and his unwillingness to dirty his own hands, he doesn't go on as many missions as the other members of the Organization do. Most of the missions that he does go on do not end successfully either. This is why his seat is the lowest out of all of the Organization members in the room Where Nothing Gathers (this is the real show of power in the Organization, not rank). Despite this, he is easily provoked into dangerous situations, much like when he was tricked into fighting Sora by Marluxia.

Another prominent trait of Vexen is his short fuse. He gets irritated rather quickly and will not hesitate to lash out, mostly when it comes to his work. He doesn't take kindly to any sort of criticism, and as stated earlier, especially when it's given to him by someone that he considers inferior. The scientist also has a tendency to complain. A lot. When something isn't going to his liking, you will likely hear about it. He has sensitive buttons, so to speak, and most of the Organization members know exactly which ones to press to aggravate him. Overall, it's best to just stay on his good side...if he actually has one.

As the lead scientist of the Organization, his high intellect is a given. He's smart and he knows it. Oh does he know it. He will always be there to prove you wrong, and he'll always be there to show off his latest scientific projects...if he deems you worthy enough. Most of his time is spent in the laboratory, dabbling in his experiments. This is one of the reasons why he doesn't enjoy going on missions; because it takes him away from his experimentation. Though, if he can view the mission as a way to collect data, he will certainly go for it. Vexen loves his experiments, so he will go to rather tedious lengths to obtain data for them.

Overall, Vexen's intentions are set solely on experimentation. To continue his experimentation, he keeps his life out of danger, so he stays away from missions. Thus, as mentioned, his chair remains the lowest in the Organization. Because of his unwillingness to complete missions, his relations with the other members aren't very positive. Judging by their reactions in the canon, none of the members seem to like him very much, but Vexen couldn't really care less about that. All that matters to him is science, data, and discovery. As long as he has those things, he is content.

Well, as content as an unfeeling Nobody can be, anyway.
