Sweetheart, I don't think that's messed up at all. You barely know your brother. He's never around, so honestly, will it make that much of a difference when he leaves to go overseas? No, not really. But Peanut is your pet, he's your baby, you've had him around all the time for a few years and you know him inside and out and you have to give him away. That's hard. That's something that you care about, that you're used to having around, that you will have to say goodbye to. I think it's perfectly normal.
ANYTIME you want to talk, day or night, any hour, call my cell. I love you, hun, I'm sorry you have to go through this. <3
Cats are so much more loveable than distant older brothers. My brother may be leaving for Nepal at the end of the summer, and quite honestly, I'll just be grateful to not have to share a bathroom.
But really, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. May the threat of danger bring you closer together? You never know. Just know he'll be home before you realize it.

never mind that you had a brother. so i guess after years of not knowing him then him leaving, compared to losing a cat isn't that big of a deal, especially if he's driving tanks.
sounds insensitive yes, and I'm not sure what my point in this is, I guess I'm just trying to rationalize it or something.
