this evening at the grocery store, i found myself surrounded by one of the worst elements of society: white trash. At least three generations worth, with less than 50 years separating the oldest from the youngest. all poster children for diabetes. kids running amok. sleeveless t shirts. threats of beatings. and oh the screaming. with my polo shirt and cart full of whole grains, fresh vegetables and tofu, i feared they might turn their rage on me. i hate to say it, but the whole thing made me cringe.
