"You are never there when I need you." accused Lynn, waking Janie from a pleasant dream.
"Lynn? Sweetie? I'm here now, or I will be if you let me get some coffee and wake up."
"This can't wait! I have to get this off my chest. Janie."
"What? Sweetie, what's brought this on."
"You were always leaving me, even before the terrible things started. With babysitters, or Grandma, or Grandpa. You left and lived another life then came back when it was convienent. I SAVED you from countless boyfriends and what did you do? Leave me again. Remember Gio? You left me after that too. You tried to ditch me! After all that we went through together. When you try to get away, you're really abandoning me over and over again. Even the chinchilla problem you left me with."
"Uh... that's my fault. Do whatever you have to if you want to get rid of them... I'm sorry"
"It's too late for sorry."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm going to art school, and I'm moving in with my best friend. Also, I've got a boyfriend!"
"Art school?"
"You can't stop me."
"Lynn, do you want to come with me? I've found a place-"
"NO! I am not abandoning everything the way you do. I have a life. UGH!"
Janie watched as her daughter stormed out of the room, slamming the door. Before breaking down into tears, she picked up her comm to contact Phoenix.
Phoenix whom she still loved with all of her heart, and who was so... boring right now. He was rarely around. She couldn't remember when she last spoke to him. There was such a history, and now the two of them were nothing but old friends that wrote every once in a while. She'd started playing bingo and learning bridge. There were various arts and crafts strewn-
Janie was becoming boring. Old. She didn't have Phoenix, or Lynn or anyone but Julian. How much longer would that last?
She'd gotten by fine without Phoenix for almost 80 years once before, hadn't she? She could do it again. She didn't need anyone.
There was a man on Elysium, though... tall and dark, romantic and a great dancer. Someone she could talk to for hours and hours. They needed her there, all of them did. But now it was time for Tae Bo, and she couldn't be late again. Daydreaming about foreign worlds would have to wait for another day.
