Notes: First GA fic, wee! Would love any and all comments. English isn't my first language, but I hope I made no mistakes anyway. Also, the fic has nothing to do with The Smiths' song by that name, except of me stealing the name.
Nothing was new about the way it all started. Not the sleeping together, which they made a habit out of on lonely, sad nights, sometimes even on regular ones. Not their slightly drunken state of mind, which they made a habit out of on pretty much every night spent together.
And nothing was new about Christina, on the verge of sleep, wrapping her arm around Meredith's waist. Because neither of them was a cuddling kind of woman, except of with each other. With their person, it was okay, it was welcome, and it was comforting and not weird.
Something was new, though, about Meredith turning around to face her friend, which in turn made her snap out of her sleepiness. "Mm... what's wrong?"
Wrong? Nothing was wrong. Nothing. Meredith didn't even know why she turned around, unlike any other time when she just settled in Christina's arms. And while pondering her actions, she lean in and kissed her friend, slowly and sweetly.
Now, that was definitely a new thing all-together.
And also, Christina was into the kiss. That was also new, and surprising. If surprising was indeed the word, as Meredith herself was surprised by her action, as it was not something she had thought about for a long time. It just sort of jumped on her unannounced, leaving her no room to argue.
And then, they pulled back for breath. And to understand what just went on, with the lips and the tongues and hand on the small of Meredith's back and a different hand in Christina's hair.
"What did I just do?"
"I... I don't know."
"What do we do now?"
"I... I don't know."
It wasn't a Christina Yang thing, not to know. Because Christina always knew. Always. Everything. At least she knew everything cardio, but nothing heart-related. Nothing about the stupid idea people had of this organ holding any kind of feeling or emotion. That she was in the dark about.
Silence. Only the faint noises of cars from the street echoed in their room, as did their breaths, uneven and hard. A few moments passed by like this, in which both of them wondered about this new feeling which sprung out of them out of nowhere.
Suddenly, without either of them noticing or knowing who the first to lean in was, there was a second round of kissing. With more hands roaming on the other's body. With body heats starting to rise. With two bodies moving closer.
"Mer..." Christina hissed when her friend's mouth wandered off to her chin, her cheek, and finally and most arousing - her earlobe. Oh hell. "I don't do girls..." she whispered followed by a muffled moan, and possibly her hand crawling up Meredith's thigh and under her shorts.
"I don't either..." Meredith murmured into the other woman's earlobe, which she got herself very busy sucking on, while her right hand found itself miraculously moving beneath Christina's shirt, and up to gently play with her nipple.
They spent half the night exploring one another, each performing on the other what she liked done to her, finding that they, not very surprisingly, enjoyed the same things. Shared the same weak spots. Craved one another. There was no point in any more pondering or conversation tonight, at least not something that went beyond "Crap... fuck... right there... ohhhh... God..." and anything else they might have whispered and moaned to one another.
Tonight was no night for thinking, only doing. They will have all of tomorrow and every day after to deal with the revelation neither of them was previously aware of. With this desire that built up inside of them, hidden not just from the world, but from themselves as well.
One thing was clear, though.
This was sure to become their new nightly habit.
