I was on the subway this AM, browsing through Pascal, when I looked across the aisle and spotted a gorgeous young woman in a tank top reading a book. She had thick dark hair, Mediterranean features, a nice tan, and substantial tracts of land. I was about to try some eye contact, but my eye caught the title of her book first. It was a John Irving novel.
