"Oi, is that something chicken-like I smell?" Bill called on his way into the kitchen. It wasn't unheard of for someone besides him or Shari to be cooking in the Homestead's kitchen, but it wasn't exactly expected, either.
The girl in the kitchen was unfamiliar, but expected, and Bill gave her a friendly smile. "You must be Bella, yeah? Welcome to the Homestead. I'm Bill Weasley, I'm the adult in residence here."
Bella laughed, not sure what the guy meant by chicken-like, but didn't dwell on it for now. She was too busy keeping in a laugh, especially when she turned around and saw that the man attached to the voice was actually a redhead.
"Sure you are," Bella smiled and pulled the pasta off the burner, draining it. "Let me guess, your parents have a really sick sense of humor, right?"
Bill's smile turned slightly confused. "Not...really, that I know of," he replied. "I wasn't aware my name was all that odd." He reckoned maybe Weasley could be seen as a somewhat unusual surname, depending on where one was from.
"It's not weird, it's just the same name as a redhead in a book series. You know the one, about the wizards?" When she saw his confusion, she shook her head as a blush rose to her cheeks.
"Sorry. I'm making a really crappy first impression, aren't I?" She wiped her hands on a towel and offered one to him. "Yes, I'm Bella. And it's nice to meet you."
