To block the sun, yes, but to block ice/snow going in your eyes, not so much!
That's what goggles are for. Besides, goggles are fun and pretty.

maybe ur goggles are pretty but mine are SOOO NOT! i feel like a bug w/them on haha

Like Tree said, stick w/ goggles to keep your eyes protected from flying shit... BUT. If you don't like your current frames, get some nicer frames w/ clear lenses (cuz clear is cheaper than ones w/ tinted, mirrored, titanium, etc etc lenses) and wear the contacts underneath. Same effect. No more ugly bug eyes.

Hmm... Impractical because I'll never become the Rockstar Boarder I aspire to be if I'm busy rubbing body parts with no-skill-havin', self-proclaimed snowbunnies?
