There were always classes going on somewhere in the schoolhouse, but if you knew the schedule, it wasn't hard to find a bit of quiet space to get some work done. Calvin was sitting in the classroom he secretly thought of his own with a pile of papers in front of him and a pen cap in his mouth. Grading papers. It was astonishing how many worksheets, projects, essays, tests, and God only knows what else shows up on a teacher's desk, especially when you've got six classes on your plate.
But he enjoyed it, especially now with a couple semesters under his belt and his stride more or less hit. He'd even worked out how to teach astronomy when you haven't even got constant constellations to work with. Teaching was a source of comfort and confidence that was still missing from the rest of life since Meg had gone.
Humming idly, he made a comment on Percy Jackson's worksheet on biomes and then reached for the next sheet on the pile.
